The third generation of AMD processors,

AMD announced the full release of the world's first data center CPU that uses 3D chip stacking, the third-generation AMD EPYC (codenamed Milan-X) processor with AMD 3D V-Cache technology. These processors are based on the "Zen 3" core architecture, further expanding the third-generation EPYC processor product line. Compared with non-stacked third-generation AMD EPYC processors, they can provide up to 66% performance improvement for various targeted technical computing workloads.

The AMD EPYC 7003 series processors are equipped with AMD 3D V-Cache™ technology, making these already advanced processors even more powerful. The EPYC processor is now the industry's most advanced x86 server processor for technical computing performance, designed to accelerate product development cycles and increase productivity. These server processors are the first to introduce true 3D chip stacking technology, increasing circuit interconnect density to 200 times that of current 2D technology through a "contactless" design between copper layers, which is 15 times higher than other 3D technologies that use soldering contacts.

- Brings breakthrough per-core performance: L3 cache is 3 times the original/768 MB per slot

- Reduces TCO while accelerating product development

- Supports sustainable development through superior energy efficiency

- Has new reassuring security features

- Compatible with existing AMD EPYC 7003 platforms

Breakthrough Performance

As the world's most powerful server processor for technical computing, the third-generation AMD EPYC processor with AMD 3D V-Cache technology provides faster results efficiency for targeted workloads, such as:

- EDA: Compared to the EPYC 73F3 CPU, the 16-core AMD EPYC 7373X CPU can provide up to 66% faster simulation speed for Synopsys VCS.

- FEA: The 64-core AMD EPYC 7773X processor provides stronger performance in the Altair Radioss simulation application.

- CFD: The 32-core AMD EPYC 7573X processor can solve more CFD problems per day when running ANSYS CFX.

These performance and features will ultimately help customers deploy fewer servers and reduce data center energy consumption, thereby reducing overall ownership costs (TCO), reducing carbon emissions, and achieving their environmental sustainability goals.
