AMD EPYC128 Core 1TB L3 Bergamo Performance Explosion Attacks

AMD EPYC 9004 Bergamo performance explosion is coming.

AMD has officially released the fourth-generation EPYC 9004 series, code-named Genoa, which upgrades to 5nm process, Zen4 architecture, 96 cores and 192 threads, 12 channels of 6TB DDR5-4800 memory, and 160 PCIe 5.0 bus channels. Both the technical specifications and performance far exceed Intel's subsequent Sapphire Rapids fourth-generation Xeon scalable processors.

Next, the AMD EPYC product line has three key focuses.

The first is code-named Bergamo, mainly aimed at the high-density, high-throughput cloud market, which was previously announced to be launched in the first half of the year.

It adopts the Zen4c architecture, which is instruction set compatible with Zen4 but has a smaller size and higher energy efficiency. It supports up to 128 cores and 256 threads, continues to support 12 channels of DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 channels, and shares the SP5 package interface with the EPYC 9004 series, making the platform compatible.

2. The second product is Genoa-X, an enhanced version of the 3D V-Cache for the EPYC 9004 series.

In other words, this is a new EPYC 9004 product with an enhanced 3D V-Cache, which can have up to 96 cores and 192 threads, and the 3D V-Cache technology can increase the L3 cache size by 768MB. Along with the existing 6MB level-one cache and 96MB level-two cache, the total cache size is about 1254MB, which is very beneficial for high-performance computing.

3. The third product is Siena, aimed at the area of intelligent edge computing and communication infrastructure.

It is highly likely to be a new EPYC product based on the Zen4c architecture with the code name Bergamo. It supports up to 128 cores and 256 threads, 12 channels of DDR5 memory, and PCIe 5.0 channels, and is compatible with the SP5 package interface of the EPYC 9004 series, making the platform compatible.
